Manish, you are right when you say, “…whose understanding you can't reach is false”… that’s PERCEPTION and when Newton says that “… the apprehension of them is not understanding”..he probably means that, you can never understand what is false, you can only have a apprehention or perception about it…and that may not be the REALITY. “flase truths” can be the things that you apprehend/imagine to be true, but you don’t understand that they are not (true).

It seems that people have really warmed up for this debate, and good that Mudit has assumed the role of the arbitrator. I guess he is right that none of the views on the table is complete, and not completely incorrect at the same time. Rest assured that, the debate is not going to conclude anytime in near future (unless we get bored of it), and, we will all prove ourselves to be jackasses (thanks to Henry Mencken and his Anonymous friend). This debate is not new, and we have seen some of the most accomplished minds of all time battling similar fronts through ages.
(Not so) long ago, I came across two very interseting discussions, one between Einstein and Tagore, and other with SKS at his “thrusday nite forum“. I hope mudit will be posting them very soon. I suggest, before we proceed lets add a few more dimensions to our perspectives.
